Rick and Naomi up a tree by rowanseymour Rick and Naomi up a tree by rowanseymour
This is Lagan Meadows, just 10 minutes cycling from the center of Belfast. There's no better place to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon than with your friends, up a tree!

Comments and criticism appreciated as always.

That is Velvet Elvis - my own copy which I'd just finished :)

I found it a very enjoyable read, cuz it's such a refreshing, sincere and completely Biblical view of what following Jesus can be. I found the bit about God seeing Jesus when he looks at us, really helpful. I take it you've read it too? What did you think? Have you seen Rob Bell's Nooma DVDs?

Yes, I have read the book - and generally speaking, I really did enjoy it a lot. It was not entirely new to me - Rob's teaching style and insight - simply because I lived several years in Grand Rapids and have attended Mars Hill before, although I was a part of Calvary Church there in GR (which is where Rob Bell did his internship under Ed Dobson). But yea, great book.

As far as the Noomas - Yes, I have also seen those and own a few - very good.

Being in GR is what really got me excited about Jewish History, studying Scripture, and following Jesus like I now do. Calvary Church was very instrumental in my relationship with God. I remember when Rob Bell only taught a few Saturday Night services at Calvary...he did that for about one year before he left and started Mars. Another great teacher is Kent Dobson, but I don't believe he's published anything, made anything - but if you ever hear of him or have a chance to catch him somewhere - do it...he has actually taught and lived over in Israel. Pretty crazy...

Good stuff, good times. Thanks for writing back...

Great composition - the hot spot on Rick's face may be a little much - but not overly done...great little capture.
